Wire-Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM)
Undergraduate Research Assistant • May 2026 – Present
Supporting undergraduate research in wire-arc additive manufacturing through literature review and development of finite element modeling workflows.
The project focuses on understanding thermal behavior during material deposition to support process modeling and simulation.
- Review peer-reviewed WAAM studies and thermal modeling methodologies.
- Develop ANSYS-based finite element workflows for thermal analysis.
- Assist with model setup, validation, and interpretation of simulation results.

On a Stick Index
Student Researcher • June 2025 – Aug 2025
Contributed to the inaugural "On a Stick Index," applying CPI-style weighting methodology to calculate a 7.7% year-over-year inflation rate at the Minnesota State Fair.
- Reviewed 15+ economic papers to define methodology.
- Managed database in Excel with strict data validation.
- Developed CPI-modeled statistical weights in Excel using fairgoer spending surveys and historical pricing data.
